Melbourne Cup at Waterfront City
Tues 4th Nov 08, from 10am
On Tuesday 4th of November the piazza will be a live site as part of the Emirates Melbourne Cup Day. From 10am we will have the races broadcast live from the big screens, an MC to run a raffle and competitions all day, and activities for the kids too. There will also be a mobile TAB onsite all day so that punters can place their bets.

FREE Movies on the Waterfront
Enjoy FREE movies on the big screens at Waterfront City, every Thursday and Friday night from 7.30pm. Waterfront City’s Piazza is the perfect setting for this outdoor event with the screens visible from any point in the public area. Cinema buffs can hire bean bags or deck chairs to ensure supreme comfort under the stars. Enjoy the classics on Thursday nights such as 'Ghostbusters', and the family favourites - like 'Jumanji' on Friday nights. There's something for everyone! All films are rated PG. View movie schedule

For the six weeks in the lead-up to Christmas, StreetSmart partners with restaurants including many at Docklands to ask diners to make a small donation to StreetSmart on their bill. Every table is asked to add $2 or more to their bill, not even the price of a coffee or mineral water. It’s a simple idea that adds up to a big impact on the lives of people who are homeless.
So when you are planning a night out think about taking a simple action and book at a StreetSmart participating restaurant. While you are there encourage your fellow diners to dig deep and leave your donation on your bill. Be it meeting up with friends, family or an office or business function we need you to get involved. If you don't want to participate in the $2 donation, simply notify your waiter.
Participating restaurants for 2008 include; Butchers Grill, Saganaki, MeccaBah, Steakhouse, Livebait, BlueFire, Belllissimo Cusina & Trattoria, Yum Cha Dragon View the full list at streetsmartaustralia.org
